1. (Optional) Sear for flavor:
- In a hot skillet, sear beef cubes in olive oil until browned (this adds depth).
- Transfer to crockpot.
2. Build the sauce:
- Sprinkle gravy mix, onion soup mix, and garlic over the beef.
- Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Stir gently to coat.
- Cover and cook on LOW 6β8 hours or HIGH 3β4 hours, until beef is fall-apart tender.
3. Thicken the gravy:
- Mix cornstarch and cold water.
- Stir into crockpot during the last 30 minutes of cooking (set to HIGH if needed). Sauce will thicken beautifully.
4. Serve it up:
- Boil egg noodles just before serving and spoon the beef and gravy generously on top.
