Crockpot Barbecue Ribs

Instructions

  1. Prep the ribs:
Remove the thin membrane on the back of the ribs (if it’s still attached) — this helps the seasoning and sauce soak in better.
  2. Mix the rub:
In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, salt, and cayenne. Rub this mixture all over both sides of the ribs.
  3. Add to the crockpot:
Place the ribs in your slow cooker. You can cut them into smaller sections to fit better.
  4. Add the sauce:
Pour the barbecue sauce and apple cider vinegar (or Worcestershire sauce) over the ribs. Cover and cook:
    • Low for 7–8 hours (super tender)
    • High for 4 hours (a little firmer but still juicy)
  5. Finish under the broiler (optional but amazing):
Line a baking sheet with foil, place the ribs on top, brush with extra BBQ sauce, and broil for 3–5 minutes until the sauce caramelizes and gets slightly sticky.
  6. Serve:
Slice between the bones and serve with your favorite sides — coleslaw, baked beans, cornbread, or potato salad! 😍

🔥 Ashley’s Tip

If you like them extra saucy, keep a small pot of warm BBQ sauce on the side for dipping or brushing before serving.

Would you like me to share a honey-garlic or smoky bourbon BBQ version next? Both are incredible in the slow cooker!
