Ingredients (Serves 2–3)
- 500 g (1 lb) fresh mushrooms, cleaned and trimmed
- ½ cup (60 g) all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup (100 g) breadcrumbs or panko
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare mushrooms:
Pat mushrooms dry with a paper towel.
- Set up breading station:
- Bowl 1: flour mixed with salt, pepper, and garlic powder
- Bowl 2: beaten eggs
- Bowl 3: breadcrumbs or panko
- Coat mushrooms:
Dip each mushroom in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to coat well.
- Heat oil:
In a deep skillet or pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat (enough to cover the bottom, about 1 cm deep).
- Fry mushrooms:
Fry mushrooms in batches 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Drain & serve:
Remove mushrooms and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Garnish with parsley and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
