🔹 Ingredients:
- 4 cups (1 liter) whole milk
- 4 large eggs
- ¾ cup (150g) sugar
- ½ cup (60g) cornstarch
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp butter
- Cinnamon (for topping)
- Whipped cream (optional)
🔹 Instructions:
Step 1: Make the Custard
- In a bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla.
- Heat milk in a saucepan until warm (not boiling).
- Slowly add warm milk to egg mixture while whisking.
- Pour everything back into the saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thick and smooth.
- Stir in butter.
Step 2: Bake
- Pour mixture into a greased baking dish.
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–35 minutes until the top is golden.
- Let cool completely.
- Chill in fridge for 2–3 hours before slicing.
Step 3: Serve
- Sprinkle cinnamon on top.
- Add a dollop of whipped cream.
