Creamy Baked Milk Custard

🔹 Ingredients:

  • 4 cups (1 liter) whole milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¾ cup (150g) sugar
  • ½ cup (60g) cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Cinnamon (for topping)
  • Whipped cream (optional)

🔹 Instructions:

Step 1: Make the Custard

  1. In a bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla.
  2. Heat milk in a saucepan until warm (not boiling).
  3. Slowly add warm milk to egg mixture while whisking.
  4. Pour everything back into the saucepan.
  5. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thick and smooth.
  6. Stir in butter.

Step 2: Bake

  1. Pour mixture into a greased baking dish.
  2. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–35 minutes until the top is golden.
  3. Let cool completely.
  4. Chill in fridge for 2–3 hours before slicing.

Step 3: Serve

  • Sprinkle cinnamon on top.
  • Add a dollop of whipped cream.
