
Ingredients (Makes 1 loaf)
For the Banana Bread:
- 2–3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup (115 g) butter, softened
- 1 cup (200 g) sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups (190 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
For the Cream Cheese Filling:
- 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup (50 g) sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven: 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Make cream cheese filling:
Beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Set aside. - Prepare banana bread batter:
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well. Stir in mashed bananas.
In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually fold dry ingredients into banana mixture. - Assemble loaf:
Pour half of the banana batter into the loaf pan. Spread cream cheese filling over it. Top with remaining banana batter and smooth the surface. - Bake:
Bake 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. - Cool and serve:
Let cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy!
