
🤫😋🤤 Crab & Shrimp Seafood Bisque
Ingredients
- 250 g (½ lb) shrimp, peeled & deveined
- 250 g (½ lb) crab meat
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 3 cups seafood stock (or chicken stock)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- ½ tsp paprika
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook shrimp
- Heat olive oil in a pot, add shrimp, cook 1–2 minutes per side.
- Remove and chop roughly. Set aside.
- Make the base
- In the same pot, melt butter.
- Add onion and cook until soft.
- Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
- Thicken
- Stir in flour and cook 1 minute (don’t brown).
- Slowly whisk in seafood stock.
- Build flavor
- Add tomato paste, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer 10 minutes.
- Make it creamy
- Add cream and milk, stir gently.
- Add shrimp and crab meat.
- Finish
- Simmer 5 more minutes (do not boil).
- Adjust seasoning.
