Instructions:
Step 1: Cook the Ground Beef
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 5–7 minutes.
- Add the diced onions and minced garlic, and cook until the onions are translucent, about 3–4 minutes.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 2: Assemble the Sandwich
- Preheat a griddle pan or a large skillet over medium heat.
- Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- Place two slices of bread (butter-side down) in the hot pan.
- On top of each slice of bread, place 2 slices of cheese.
- Add the cooked ground beef mixture evenly over the cheese.
- Top with the desired burger toppings (tomato, onion, lettuce, and pickles).
- Place another slice of cheese on top of the toppings.
- Cover with the remaining slices of bread, butter-side up.
Step 3: Grill the Sandwich
- Press down gently on the sandwiches using a spatula or a heavy plate to ensure even cooking.
- Cook for about 3–4 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- If needed, add a little more butter to the top of the bread during cooking to achieve a crispier texture.
Step 4: Serve
- Remove the sandwiches from the pan and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Slice each sandwich diagonally into halves.
- Serve hot with a side of fries or a green salad.
Tips:
- Cheese Variety: You can use different types of cheese, such as cheddar, Swiss, or a combination of cheeses, depending on your preference.
- Toppings: Customize the sandwich by adding extra toppings like bacon, avocado, or jalapeños.
- Grill Option: For a smokier flavor, you can grill the sandwiches instead of frying them.
- Storage: Leftover sandwiches can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
