
🍽 Gourmet Meatballs with Mushroom Sauce
Ingredients
For the Meatballs:
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (or mix beef & pork for more flavor)
- 1 small onion, finely grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- ½ cup breadcrumbs (or panko)
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)
For the Mushroom Sauce:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 10 oz (300 g) cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
- 1 shallot, finely chopped (or ½ onion)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup dry white wine (or chicken broth)
- 1 cup beef or chicken stock
- 1 cup heavy cream (or crème fraîche for tang)
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves (or ½ tsp dried)
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
