
🇭🇺 Hungarian Vanilla Crescent Cookies

📝 Ingredients
- 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (120 g) ground walnuts (or almonds)
- 1/2 cup (100 g) powdered sugar
- 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
For Coating:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 packets vanilla sugar (or 1 teaspoon vanilla powder)
👩🍳 Instructions
- Make the Dough
In a bowl, mix flour, ground nuts, powdered sugar, and salt.
Add softened butter and vanilla.
Mix until a soft dough forms. - Chill
Wrap dough and refrigerate for 30–60 minutes. - Shape
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Take small pieces of dough, roll into short logs, and gently curve into crescent shapes.
Place on a lined baking sheet. - Bake
Bake for 12–15 minutes until lightly golden (do not overbake). - Coat
While still warm, gently roll cookies in powdered sugar mixed with vanilla sugar.
Let cool completely.
