Ingredients
- 1 large head cabbage
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (or beef/pork mix)
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 cup water or broth
Instructions
- Boil whole cabbage 5–8 minutes until leaves soften. Separate leaves.
- Mix meat, rice, onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Place filling on each leaf, roll and tuck sides.
- Arrange rolls seam-side down in a pot.
- Pour tomato sauce and water over rolls.
- Cover and simmer 60–75 minutes on low heat.
- Serve hot.
