Ingredients (makes 12 pieces)
Dough:
- 1 package instant yeast
- 130 ml lukewarm water
- 50 g sugar
- 130 ml lukewarm milk
- 75 g melted butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 600 g all-purpose flour
Filling:
- 5 apples (e.g., Granny Smith), peeled and chopped
- 100 g sugar
- 5 tbsp melted butter
- 2 tbsp butter
- 200 g brown sugar
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
Glaze:
- 4 tbsp butter
- 60 g cream cheese
- 150 g powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare Dough:
- Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water and milk with sugar.
- Combine with flour, salt, egg, and melted butter. Knead into a smooth dough.
- Cover and let rise for ~1 hour, until doubled.
2️⃣ Prepare Filling:
- Mix chopped apples with sugar, melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
3️⃣ Assemble Pastries:
- Roll out dough into rectangles.
- Place apple filling in the center, fold or roll dough as desired.
4️⃣ Bake:
- Preheat oven to 180 °C (350 °F).
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown.
5️⃣ Prepare Glaze:
- Mix melted butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Spread glaze over warm pastries.
