Hungarian Appetizer / Dip – Körözött

Ingredients

  • 250 g quark (túró) or cream cheese
  • 3 tbsp sour cream
  • 1 small onion, very finely chopped
  • 1–2 tsp Hungarian sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds (ground or whole)
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1–2 tbsp butter (soft)
  • Chopped chives or green onions (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix quark, sour cream, and butter until smooth.
  2. Add onion, paprika, caraway, mustard, and salt.
  3. Mix well and adjust seasoning.
  4. Chill 20–30 minutes for best flavor.

Serve with: fresh bread, toast, crackers, or stuffed into peppers.
