Hungarian Fried Chicken with Cheese (Sajtos Rántott Csirke)

Ingredients

  • 600 g chicken breast, sliced
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g all-purpose flour
  • 150 g breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying
  • 150 g grated cheese (Emmental, mozzarella, or similar)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken slices with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Prepare three bowls: flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs.
  3. Coat each chicken piece in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  5. Fry chicken until golden brown on both sides.
  6. Place fried chicken on a serving plate.
  7. Sprinkle grated cheese on top while still hot so it melts slightly.
  8. Serve immediately.
