
Ingredients
For the soup:
- 500 g chicken pieces (breast or thighs, cut into chunks)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 potatoes, diced
- 1 cup green peas
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1.5 liters water or chicken stock
For the dumplings (nokedli):
- 1 egg
- 4 tablespoons flour
- Pinch of salt
- Water (as needed)
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pot and sauté the onion until soft.
- Add paprika, stir quickly, then add chicken pieces.
- Season with salt and pepper and cook for a few minutes.
- Add carrots, potatoes, peas, and water or stock.
- Simmer on medium heat for 25–30 minutes until vegetables are tender.
- Mix egg, flour, salt, and a little water to make a thick batter.
- Drop small dumplings into the soup and cook for 5–7 minutes until done.
- Adjust seasoning and serve hot.
