Ingredients
- 500 g (4 cups) all-purpose flour
- 250 ml (1 cup) warm milk
- 7 g (2¼ tsp) dry yeast
- 3 egg yolks
- 60 g (¼ cup) sugar
- 60 g (¼ cup) melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
- Oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Dissolve the yeast in warm milk with 1 tablespoon sugar. Let rest 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, egg yolks, butter, vanilla, and yeast mixture.
- Knead until soft and elastic (about 10 minutes).
- Cover and let rise until doubled (about 1 hour).
- Roll out dough and cut into rounds.
- Let rise again for 20–30 minutes.
- Fry in medium-hot oil until golden on both sides.
- Drain on paper towels and dust with powdered sugar.
