
Vanilla Custard Cream Squares
Ingredients
- 1 package puff pastry sheets (2 sheets), thawed
Custard Cream
- 2½ cups milk
- ½ cup sugar
- ⅓ cup cornstarch
- 4 egg yolks
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
Topping
- Powdered sugar
Instructions
- Bake puff pastry sheets according to package directions until golden. Cool completely.
- In a saucepan, whisk milk, sugar, cornstarch, and egg yolks until smooth.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thick.
- Remove from heat; stir in butter and vanilla. Cool slightly.
- Spread custard over one pastry sheet, top with second sheet.
- Dust with powdered sugar, chill, then cut into squares.
