Beef & Marinade
- 1 lb (450 g) flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- ½ tsp black pepper
Stir-Fry
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 bell peppers (green + red), sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated (optional)
Sauce
- ¼ cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- ½–1 tsp freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
👩🍳 Instructions
- Marinate beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, and pepper for 15–20 minutes.
- Mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl; set aside.
- Heat a wok or large skillet until very hot; add oil.
- Sear beef in batches 30–45 seconds per side; remove.
- In the same pan, stir-fry onion and peppers 2–3 minutes (crisp-tender).
- Add garlic and ginger; stir 15 seconds.
- Return beef to the pan.
- Pour in sauce; toss quickly until thick and glossy (1–2 minutes).
- Serve immediately while sizzling.
