🛒 Ingredients
Chicken
- 1 kg (2–2.5 lb) chicken pieces (drumsticks, thighs, or breast)
Buttermilk Marinade
- 1 cup buttermilk (or milk + 1 tbsp vinegar)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp garlic powder
Crispy Coating
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp white pepper (optional)
- ½ tsp salt
For Cooking
- Cooking spray or light oil spray
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Marinate the Chicken
- Wash and pat chicken dry.
- Mix buttermilk with spices.
- Add chicken, coat well, cover, and refrigerate at least 2 hours (overnight is best).
2. Coat the Chicken
- In a bowl, mix all coating ingredients.
- Remove chicken from marinade and dredge in flour mixture.
- Press well to create a thick, craggy coating.
3. Air Fry
- Preheat air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
- Spray basket lightly with oil.
- Place chicken in a single layer (don’t overcrowd).
- Spray tops lightly with oil.
- Cook 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy and internal temp reaches 165°F (74°C).
