Ingredients

For the Meatloaf

  • 1 kg ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella (optional for extra moisture)
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional but delicious)

For the Filling (Optional but traditional)

  • 4–6 slices of mozzarella or provolone
  • 4–5 slices of cooked ham OR salami

For the Sauce

  • 1 cup tomato sauce or marinara
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste
