- Cook the noodles in salted water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet or pot, heat the butter and oil over medium heat.
- Add the onions and sauté until soft and golden.
- Stir in the cabbage. Season with salt and pepper, then cover and cook until soft and lightly browned (15–20 minutes), stirring occasionally.
- When the cabbage is tender and caramelized, add the cooked noodles to the skillet. Stir everything together and cook for a few more minutes until heated through.
- Adjust salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle with a pinch of Hungarian paprika if desired.
🍽️ Tip:
For a heartier version, add bacon or serve it with a side of sour cream or a fried egg.
