1. Prepare the Dough:
- Mix flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder in a bowl.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture is crumbly.
- Add the egg and sour cream, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Divide dough in half, wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
2. Make the Apple Filling:
- Squeeze excess juice from the grated apples.
- Mix with sugar, cinnamon, lemon zest, and juice.
3. Assemble the Pie:
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Roll out one dough half and place in a greased 9×13-inch (or similar) baking pan.
- Sprinkle semolina or breadcrumbs over the base.
- Spread apple filling evenly.
- Roll out second dough half and place on top.
- Prick top with a fork. Optional: brush with beaten egg.
4. Bake:
- Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until golden on top.
5. Cool & Serve:
- Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
