🥧 Deep Hamburger, Sausage & Pepperoni Pie

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Preheat Oven:

  • Preheat to 375°F (190°C). Grease a deep-dish pie pan (9 inches and at least 1.5–2 inches deep).

2. Prepare the Crust:

  • Roll out one pie crust into the pie dish and press into the bottom and sides.
  • Brush with a mix of melted butter + garlic powder (and Italian seasoning if using) for extra flavor.
  • Set second crust aside for the top.

3. Cook the Meats:

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and sausage with onion and bell pepper (if using) until fully browned.
  • Drain excess grease.
  • Stir in pizza sauce, oregano, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  • Simmer for 2–3 minutes to blend flavors.

4. Assemble the Pie:

  • Layer half the mozzarella and Parmesan into the crust.
  • Spoon in the hot meat mixture.
  • Top with remaining cheese and pepperoni slices.

5. Add the Top Crust:

  • Place second pie crust over the filling.
  • Pinch and seal the edges. Cut a few slits in the top for steam to escape.
  • Brush with remaining garlic butter.

6. Bake:

  • Bake for 35–45 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbling.
  • If edges brown too fast, cover with foil partway through baking.

7. Cool & Serve:

  • Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing — this helps the filling set.

🧀 Optional Add-Ins:

  • Sliced black olives
  • Mushrooms
  • Spinach or banana peppers
  • Crumbled bacon

🔄 Variations:

  • Make it low-carb by skipping the top crust or using a cauliflower crust alternative.
  • Use a crescent roll sheet or puff pastry for a more tender crust.
