
Instructions
1. Activate the yeast
- In a bowl, mix warm milk + sugar + yeast.
- Let rest for 10 minutes, until foamy.
2. Make the dough
- Add the egg and melted butter to the yeast mixture.
- Mix in the flour and salt.
- Knead for 8–10 minutes (soft, smooth, slightly tacky dough).
3. First rise
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour, or until doubled.
4. Shape the buns
- Punch down the dough.
- Divide into 12 equal balls (about 85–90 g each).
- Place on a baking sheet and flatten slightly.
5. Second rise
- Cover and let rise again for 30–40 minutes.
6. Bake
- Brush with milk or egg wash for color.
- Bake at 180°C / 350°F for 15–18 minutes, until golden.
Tips for Extra Soft Buns
