👩🍳 Instructions
- Activate the yeast
- In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Make the dough
- In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and egg. Knead until smooth and elastic (about 8–10 minutes).
- First rise
- Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours, until doubled in size.
- Shape the rolls
- Punch down the dough, divide into equal pieces, and shape into rolls. Place on a greased baking sheet or in a baking dish.
- Second rise
- Cover and let the rolls rise again for 30–40 minutes, until puffy.
- Bake
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush rolls with a little milk or beaten egg for a golden top. Bake 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool & serve
- Let cool slightly before serving. Perfect with butter, jam, or honey!
✨ Tips:
- For extra soft rolls, add 2 tablespoons melted butter to the dough.
- You can sprinkle sesame seeds or poppy seeds on top for a decorative touch.
- Serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
