🔥 Instructions

1. Marinate the chicken

  • Mix buttermilk, salt, and pepper.
  • Add chicken pieces, coat well, and marinate at least 1 hour (overnight = best!).

2. Prepare the coating

Mix flour, cornstarch, and all spices in a large bowl.

3. Coat the chicken

  • Remove chicken from buttermilk, letting excess drip off.
  • Press each piece firmly into the flour mixture.
  • Shake off extra flour.
  • Lightly spray the breaded chicken with oil — this is what makes it golden and crispy!

4. Air fry

  • Preheat air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
  • Place chicken pieces in a single layer (don’t overcrowd).
  • Air fry 12 minutes, flip, spray again,
  • Air fry 10–12 more minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
