🌀 Kürtős Kalács – Hungarian Chimney Cake 🇭🇺✨

2️⃣ Shape the Chimney Cakes

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Lightly grease rolling pins, wooden dowels, or empty cans (to shape the dough).
  3. Roll out the dough into a thin rectangle and cut into long strips (about 1 inch wide).
  4. Wrap the strips spirally around the rolling pin, overlapping slightly.
  5. Lightly press to seal the edges.

3️⃣ Sugar Coating & Baking

  1. Brush each wrapped dough with melted butter.
  2. Roll in sugar + cinnamon mixture for a caramelized crust.
  3. Place the rolling pins across a baking dish so they don’t touch the surface (to mimic the traditional fire-roasting method).
  4. Bake for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown.

4️⃣ Final Touch

  1. Remove from the rolling pin while warm.
  2. Roll in chopped nuts, coconut, or cocoa powder if desired.
  3. Let cool slightly & enjoy! 😋
