🇭🇺 Hungarian Lángos (Fried Bread with Cheese & Sour Cream)

Instructions

1. Make the dough

  1. Mix warm milk, warm water, sugar, and yeast. Rest 5 minutes.
  2. Add flour, salt, and oil.
  3. Knead until soft and smooth.
  4. Cover and rise 1 hour until doubled.

2. Shape

  1. Oil your hands.
  2. Divide dough into 6 balls.
  3. Stretch each ball into a flat disk, thin in the center and thicker at the edges.

3. Fry

  1. Heat oil (170–180°C / 340–360°F).
  2. Fry each lángos until golden on both sides.
  3. Drain on paper towel.

4. Top

  • Brush with garlic water.
  • Spread sour cream.
  • Sprinkle grated cheese.
