
Ingredients
Dough:
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (225g) cold butter, cubed
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- Pinch of salt
Walnut Filling:
- 1 cup (100g) finely ground walnuts
- ¼ cup (50g) sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2–3 tablespoons milk (just enough to make a paste)
For Coating:
- Powdered sugar (generous amount)
Instructions
- Mix flour and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
- Add egg yolks, sour cream, and sugar. Knead into a smooth dough.
- Wrap and refrigerate for 30–60 minutes.
- Mix ground walnuts, sugar, vanilla, and milk until thick paste forms.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll dough thin (about ⅛ inch / 3 mm). Cut into small squares (about 2×2 inches).
- Place a small amount of walnut filling in the center of each square. Roll into small crescents.
- Bake 12–15 minutes until lightly golden (do not overbake).
- While still warm, roll generously in powdered sugar.
Cool completely and dust again with powdered sugar before serving.
