Káposztás Tészta

Káposztás tészta is a simple, comforting Hungarian classic made with caramelized cabbage and tender pasta. It’s slightly sweet, slightly peppery, and incredibly satisfying.
📝 Ingredients
- 12 oz (340 g) egg noodles (wide or square pasta)
- 1 medium head green cabbage (about 2 lbs / 900 g), finely shredded
- 3 tbsp oil or butter
- 1–2 tbsp sugar
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Cook the Pasta
- Boil noodles in salted water until tender.
- Drain and set aside.
2️⃣ Caramelize the Cabbage
- Heat oil or butter in a large pan.
- Add shredded cabbage and salt lightly.
- Cook over medium heat 10–15 minutes, stirring often.
- Sprinkle sugar over cabbage and continue cooking until soft and golden brown (about 20–30 minutes total).
3️⃣ Combine
- Add cooked noodles to the cabbage.
- Toss well and season generously with black pepper.
- Adjust salt if needed.
